Alright i have been hunting for years and have multiple kills over400yards but i always have just gone by the drop balistics guessed the height and shot and although this hasnt failed me. I would like to be able to make scope adjustments to remove the guess work.

So my question is if a scope is a 1/4in moa per click at 100yards would this make it so the scope moves a full 1in per click at 400?

One MOA is 1.047" at 100 yards, so one MOA is 1.047x4" at 400 yards.

If your scope adjusts in 1/4 MOA adjustments, 1/4 x (1.047x4) is one adjustment.

Sorta... MOA is not an inch, it is a Minute of Angle. It equals 1.047" at one hundred yards, and at 400 it will equal 4.188". But I will also advise you not worry about the linear measurements, and just dial the dope...

The better question is: Does your scope really adjust in MOA, and if so, does it make those adjustments accurately and uniformly throughout it's adjustment range?

The only way to know for sure is to try it.

How many inches does your bullet drop at 400, assuming a 100 yard zero?

24.3 divided by (1.047x4) equals 5.5 MOA.

If you dial 5.5 MOA up from your 100 yard zero, are you POA/POI (does your point of aim equal your point of impact) at 400 yards?

I am not sure like I said i have always just guessed my shot and let her fly. But if the weather allows I'm gonna do some shooting this weekend and i will try it out.

you might try downloading the "shooter" app on your smartphone or another ballistic calculator. these programs will allow you to input all kinds of external data such as bullet BC. and velocity and weather conditions to help you reach a solution. these tools can be very helpful in getting you on target at distance.
