Would like a little advice. I am in the market for a thermal. Intend to hunt from 80-400 yards. I had looked at the HaloLR and IR HUNTER 60mm, so price on that range. I am leaning Halo due to what I’ve heard about warranty service, but could be swayed on good info.

I wanted to know if there are any other units I should consider and importantly where would I be able to actually find one in inventory.

Thanks,
Shep

It would help to know what you are hunting and what rifle you want to use. But there are lots of good options these days.

I have two thermals, both Berring Optics that I am very happy with.

Sorta same boat, I have a coyote that I wanna smack and have been this close to using it as an excuse for a thermal. By budget is $7-10k though. Have been eyeballing the super yoter thread pretty hard, and euro optic has some triji on sale right now.

All my thermals are short range stuff but I've been doing a lot of research into longer range stuff. If your budget is approaching 10k your getting into the bottom end of the big boy stuff. There's guys here like horta, deersniper, strictly offensive kit that have experience with that sort of thing. I'd reach out to some of them and see if it's worth it to you to get into that next tier.

Sorry, looks like auto correct strikes again. I meant to say my budget ISN'T $7-10k...as much as I wish it was. I like nice things, unfortunately theres still reality to deal with

Please buy US made…..if at all possible….and I get it may not be due to budget. Trijicon or Nvision. Shop used for a dealio. Nvsion Halo’s are running low to mid $5s. Ditto for Trijicon Hunter 35mm. I have seen Reap 35s Gen 1’s in the $4k range.

Nvision’s 5 year transferrable warranty is the best out there. So buy with confidence on a used unit. I have a Nvision Halo I purchased used and a Trijicon Reap 35 I bought new. Both are outstanding thermal units.
