Love my Vortex Razor HD - alot of scope for the money. No matter what you spend, seeing bullet holes at 300 yds + will depend alot on conditions - mirage, etc. Whichever brand you go with, getting a model with HD glass is worth the money.
There are many options available for your needs. Along with all these options is a WIDE range of prices from a couple of hundred dollars to a couple of thousand. What price range would you like to stay in?

Prefer to cry once ;-)
I have heard a lot of good about the Vortex Razor (btw...this is my current scope on my rifle ) and the Kowa
i like the adjustment on the swarovski spotting scopes. go with an 80mm scope or better, they tend to be much easier to get behind. personally i use an angled scope. plus swarovski spotters are on sale at the moment.
Depending on your eyes and the quality of glass, you are not likely to see holes on paper much past 3-400 yards.
There is a solution however, do a search here as there are several threads on using wireless camera systems to view long distance impacts. I'm using this info to build my system right now.
I think you would be more than happy with the Razor 85HD. I can honestly say that I have ever heard of anyone being unhappy with them and generally I hear just the opposite. Most describe as being an Alpha spotter at a mid range cost. Obviously my comments may be a little bias ,so my suggestion would be to buy one from one of the Hide vendor's and if for some reason you are not pleased with it we will do what ever it takes to make you happy.
