I am looking for suggestions on reloading for a 1:10 twist barrel in .223. The bullets will be 55 gr. Hornady VMax and Sierra 53 gr. & 55 gr. BTHP's. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as I have never reloaded for a 1:10 twist.

That's a weird twist for a 223. This being said, with your bullet choices, just load them up like you would a 1:12" or 1:9" twist. Nothing chsnges.

H-335, RL-7, VV-133, any of the powders meant for the light 224 bullets, which you might have on hand, should work. Start low and run up your charges seeking out the low and high velocity nodes.

Only you can tell what works and what doesn't.

You might even be able to swing the 69s and 70gr tips.

Try this for your 10 Twist 223 barrel.
55gr vmax
25.0grs AA2230
Fed205M primer
rp or win cases, (most any 223 cases)
overall lenght 2.258"

This is my favorite load for my AR-15 with an Olympic Arms 24" 10twist SUM barrel(vel=3130fps). Also works in my 8t and 9T barrels. And H335 works equally well. Try loading up and down in .1 gr increments to see what your rifle likes. pdog2225

Have you had a chance to fire the 556 dmr yet? I've got a pretty good deal available on one, but that 1:10 has me rethinking it. How is the overall fit and finish?
