    Want to start jumping rope.

2-3 minute jump, 1-2 minute break, repeat....

Sure I go on Amazon there are lots to buy.

But I don't want to buy from Jeff Bezos.

Anyone know of a good such timer?

Be great if it had a warning beep to prep for the next interval after rest "10 seconds of rest left get your shit ready to start jumping"

Um. A clock that you can see?......

If you have a tablet you can load apps on there. Or borrow the Mrs for it.
Tabata timer or Seconds are two I have used for HIIT. Good times. Remember, you have pushed hard enough when you think you might puke!

I miss my flip phone for sure and the many useful apps on this contraption do make me need less other crap with me.

Ill end up buying one of these direct from the manufacturer to avoid Bezos. Seems to be the best seller on his domain...

I kind of favor the "bead" style jump ropes. For some reason me, a guy with no rythm, somehow can maintain a rythm with these most simple jump ropes so at least I can buy American here...

Ill get a few of them, they are cheap enough, so when the rope frays away and the beads go flying all over the gym I wont have to go hunting for them, Ill just break out another rope.

For more interesting buys just picked up a Trijicon TA33 off the PX because Ive been wanting to simplify my .223 AR and move its optic to my .308 AR.

Not having a smart phone allows me to spend my money on priorities.

I’ve been using only GymBoss timers in my gym for 6yrs. They’re great!
You can also get the Gymboss app

The weight of the beads help with rope turnover.

Whatever it is about the beads its the only style rope I can jump without creating a comedy scene.

    Got my timer today.

    Easy set up.

Planning on three minutes of rope with 1:30 rest for three rounds to start. Might be a little aggressive as I havent jumped in a year but we will see.

    Should work for my purposes.

Now waiting on my made in USA ropes.

I usually start beginners at 60sec on/10 sec off for 5 rds until they can make it through the full 60 sec without stopping or missing. As they progress I keep adding another 10 sec to the work and rest intervals.
    Just saying

We will challenge my assessment of reality.

Well Ive been looking forward to my test and see if my self assessment is wildly optimistic but my ropes havent shown up yet.

Im guessing my US Made jump rope manufacturer doesnt have the kids to help him out with building the ropes or perhaps he has to lay his own lines from home grown hemp.

Still Id rather wait than buy from Bezos.

    Made it 2:20, 2:10 and 2:20.

I used every second of my save time and my rest time trying to decide if I wanted to put my lungs back in my body first or rub my burning calfs (calves?).

    Ill get to 3:00.

Still no sign of my ropes, in addition to braiding the rope and stringing the bead I think my American alternative to Bezos hand delivers on foot......from OR.......to MA.

Timer not working out as planned.

Had hoped I would start jumping rope and enter a happy place than be surprised by the sound of the alarm thinking to myself "Man that was a fast three minutes".

No, what's happening is I'm counting in my head "1,2,3,1, 1,2,3,2, 1,2,3,3 ". Now I know it takes me about a 110 to 115 4 count to equal 3 minutes and my brain battles the body......body saying "Just quit" and brain saying "two thirds of the way there, don't be a pussy get to at least a 95 count you fag".

Anyway made the 3/3/3 goal couple times this week only failed on day I do Mountain Climbers because I think my legs were already burnt.

New ropes are good but 6 inches to short. Find myself holding the ends of the handles thinking they are going to slip away from me. Could send them back but I think 25.5 feet of paracord will give me the rope I need, a stronger rope and will be less hassle than returns.

The more I read about how our electronic data devices are nothing more than spying or marketing data collection the happier I am with the analog Gym Boss.

Google and Apple dont need to know how much rope I can or cant jump.
