I want to have someone cut the scallop protrusion out of my Rem 700 action ... I can't make my bullets the desired length (.02-.04" from the lands) without them contacting this piece.

This issue has been described lots on snipershide ... I just want to find someone in the SE CT area I can trust to do the job right. I don't want to send my rifle via mail to someone to have the work done ... it's not worth the hassle unless I need other work done.

Anybody have recommendations/contact info for a decent gunsmith in SE CT?

thinking of just buying a dremel tool and filing down the little scallop in the action ... seems like several people have done this and it doesn't seem that hard.
