Rifle Scopes Looking for a mil/mil under $1500 for mk12

I may already have my mind set, but I figured I'd see if there was something out there than I may be overlooking. Currently, I have a Bushnell 4200 6-24x50 Tactical on my mk12. I originally purchased this because I came across a deal that I could not pass up. With that, it really is a bit much of a scope and I'm looking to replace it with something smaller (both size and mag).

I'm somewhat set on the Nightforce 2.5-10 with mil reticle and mil ZS turrets..which rings it at around my budget.

This rifle is used at the range quite a bit, but I also take it out to the ranch to shoot yotes, rabbits, etc.

Any other suggestions?

I wouldn't even consider another scope go with the NF 2.5-10 with a Larue LT-104 SPR mount and you have a sweet rig.

How do you guys like 10x when it comes to non-human sized targets at around 600-700 yards?

EDIT - Also, how much realistic elevation is there with the NF 2.5-10x32?

The crosshair subtends .13 MOA@10X so at 600yds. it covers up .78MOA. That and young eyes and you're good to go.

Sure 'nam vet used 8 & 10x optics to engage to beyond 1000 yards but with todays offerings I'd never be in the field with less than a 4-14x or so scope.
A non-human sized coyote gets pretty small at 700y. A rabbit is microscopic @ 700. But then I'm a 6-24x man myself.

I've learned a few things with backpacks, sleeping bags, cartridges and scopes. Buy a little more than you need.

It's far easier to have to much scope or cartridge and simply back it off(zoom,powder charge) than to not have enough- and need more.

You should look at the IOR 2.5x10x42. Nightforce makes a great scope but most will tell you the IOR has better glass. The MP-8 retical is just awesome. If you do a little research you will see that a few years ago '06-'07ish they had some problems with the mechanics (adjustments) but the newer ones are totally reliable. you should give them a look.

I can't quarter a 2 in by 2 in pastie at 600 on a man size target, but I can see it and hold it. I easily use 10x at
those ranges

USO ST10. #3 Turrets (10.5 mil/rev) and Ergo parralax control, 37mm objective, GAP or MPR reticle.

You'll thank me.....

Love my NF scopes!!! There are a few great scopes out there!! It boils down to what you like...
