Rifle Scopes Looking for a new optic for my BTSV 17hmr

Guys- I am looking to replace a Nikon Buckmaster 4-14x40 on my Savage 17hmr. I liked the Nikon, and am not necessarily opposed to just getting another, but am wondering if there is something else I should consider.

I am in the middle of replacing some very expensive optics with Vortex PST's, and have considered maybe getting a regular 1" tubed Viper for the 17.

I dont need FFP, as this is not a trainer. Just a target gun, that may see some hunting. I want 1" tube, mil reticle and exposed turrets. That's about all I need.

Anything new out that is a great buy for a couple hundred to three hundred $ ??

Try Nikon Buckmasters 6-18X40 w/mil-dot reticle at Mid-way USA:

Hydro....look at the Vortex Viper and or the SWFA special 6-24 scope too.

Am considering the Viper, as well as a Bushnell Tac. They seem to review well also.

I love my Bushnel Elite 6-24X50 on my HMR . and there MSRP is $899 and through natches.com right now you can get them for about $425

Bushnells on closeout at midway. The 10x model is less than $200! A lot of scope for the money.
