I have a bunch of 110 grain Round nose flat backs for 30 caliber carbine and was wanting to load them in my 308 for a 100 yrd plinking round but cant find a recipe. Any help would be appreciated.

Either H4895 or IMR4895, start at 45.0g and work up.

If you really just want cheap fun plinking, try 10.0g Red Dot and work up to 14.0 or so.
or 12.0g - 17.0g Unique.
700X and Green Dot would also be good choices.

The closest I've done so far to that weight is a 125 Sierra PH, used the reduced data from Hodgdon and with 35 grains, they are at 2275. Did this for a light 200 yard load for my daughter. My Powder Valley order should be in today and I'm going to work on a 150 FMJ/H4895 and 150/TrailBoss. This will be for reduced targets at 25/50, times are easier to get those ranges than distance ones, All relative other than wind. Oh, for positional practice with Ruger GSR and a couple other hunting rifles. My hope is zero will be close to the hunting loads when used at the reduced ranges.

Only data they show for a 110 and H485

110 GR. BAR TSX FB Hodgdon H4895 .308" 2.690" 46.1 3055 40,300 PSI 49.0C 3212 46,200 PSI

Google "low-recoil loads". I loaded some for a friend's grandson several years ago. I can't remember if I went as low as 110 gr. Bullet will be about as round as it is long. Good luck...

12 grains Unique gives about 1100 fps out of my .308 with the Speer 110grain carbine bullet. Kills deer with neck shots at 100 yards. Accurate enough for that, too.

H4895 and follow the Hodgdon site recommendations if you reload. If you can find some, Hornady loads 110 grainers in their TAP line. Shoots great in my 1-12 twist Rem LTR and the recoil is VERY mild compared to other 308 factory loadings. Guys shooting a 1-10 twist didn't have the good luck as I did.

I used the minimum load (43.9) in the Hornady 7th edition manual using IMR4895. It chronographed at around 2800fps, and I was able to make hits on a steel humanoid silhouette at 700 yards easily.
