I have quite a few custom rifles, and i seem to change ring/scope/rifle combos more often than i change my socks and this leads me to much pain when it comes to mounting the scopes up. I found that Score High Gunsmithing offers what i would consider to be a sure bet scope mounting service that would take all of the guess work out of mounting my scopes, but the cost of shipping my rifle back and forth would be prohibitive, and what he quoted me to purchase a similar fixture was out of the ball park. Has anyone else come up with a system similar to this concept that would accurately allow you to install your barreled action onto the perfectly level fixture and level the scope to a plumb line from there? I am in the market if you can make me one... and i have money waiting!!
Thank you

I always get my eye relief set before I try to level my scope. Once the relief is set Ievel the gun in my bench vise , lock it down then level the cross hairs so the vertical line runs with a plum line.
Never had any complaints and it was free cause I have the vise for general work.

Love the idea of the Badger Dead Level but that doesn't help me with non piccatinny mounted scopes. On my hunting rifles I run DNZ Game Reapers and that won't work. I need a fixture to hold the action

There are quite a few machinists and smiths here who could build something like that, but definitely not on the cheap. I could build one, so could a lot of other guys here.

The question is if they could build it in the price range your willing to pay. Expect to pay a machinist who's time on the lathe is worth 40-50ish dollars an hour for about about 20+ hours of work, plus the cost of metal and hardware. I doubt it could be done for less than 2000.00

Divulge a dollar amount your willing to part with and see if anyone bites! :)
