Just purchased a very light weight Q Honey Badger in 300 BO. This rifle will be used exclusively for sub-sonic, suppressed shooting.
Looking for good to very good mid-range optic for shooting ranges out to about 400 yards.

Looking for lightweight, compact, and a lit reticle or dot of some nature. It must have parallax adjustment and dial up turrets. Probably don't need anything over 12X for those ranges. My older eyes strongly prefer a thicker reticle. Matters not to me whether it's SFP or FFP. I use both.

I love the ACOGs but don't believe any of them have dial up turrets (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Suggestions?

What's the intended purpose and how much dialing do you really plan on doing?

If it's just a range toy, get whatever optic floats your boat. I wouldn't get anything close to 12x for inside 400, but YMMV.

Without knowing the specifics of your situation, my initial recommendations are: Steiner P4Xi, Trijicon Accupoint TR24, or the Nightforce NSX 1-4

Hunting: deer, pigs and varmints and whatever groundhogs etc. happen to make themselves present on my property.

How much money are you wiling to spend?

My Honey Badger mostly has a red dot on it, but I use the MiniFix pistol for shooting pretty far out, which is a lot of fun with subsonic ammo and a 7" barrel. On the MiniFix I have March 1-8x24 Shorty which has crazy amount of adjustment available.

Inside of 400 yards, you will almost always be under 10 mrad of drop, so your requirements are not terribly involved, so I can offer some recommendation once the price range is clear.

Ilya, looking to spend something shy of $1500 if possible. Thanks

Honestly, I would probably look at one of those LRTS scopes Doug has on sale. SWFA SS HD 3-9x42 is also a very good match given its excellent tracking good FOV and sub-20 ounce weight.

That will keep you well under $1k for the optic.

New Trijicon Credo 2-10x36 would probaby be a very good match for what you are looking to do, but I have not tested it. I have seen the original design it is based on, so I have high hopes for the Credo and it has a nice tree reticle.

LPVOs look better on the HoneyBadger, but they are not any lighter.

Ilya,

Curious on your thoughts of the Credo 2-10 vs the Sig BDX series that I saw you recently discuss. (somewhere, can't remember where). I do like the Trijicon but don't want to discount the Sig if it warrants the attention. Thanks

I put a trijicon SRO on my Honey Badger it is is awesome. Great daylight bright dot 2.5 moa I think and I can make hits instantly from 10 ft. to 100 yards with subs no problem. If your only shooting subs thats all ya need. I'm sure it would be fine out to 200 if ya had to, but your not shooting subs that far anyway??? I wouldn't put a scope on a Honey Badger, it's meant to be small and light.

I have not tested the BDX. I will at some point, but not yet. Generally, BDX is mostly aimed at hunting use with the matched LRF. WIthout the LRF you can program it to give you BDC holds out to 400-500 yards. The nice thing there is that while the BDX is a SFP scope, it will adjust your illuminated holds to match magnification.

Personally, it is not terribly appealing to me without the LRF, so if you want to buy into the whole system, it works well. If you want just the scope, something with a conventional FFP mrad reticle would be my choice.

Honestly, I have not tested the 2-10x36 Credo either, but I have seen that basic design from someone else and it looked very decent. With Trijicon's MRAD tree reticle, it should be a very capable setup.
