I have a deadline I built up in 6.5cm, about 300 rounds through it so far, and at least 4x as many dry fires. I really like the action so far. Quality has been exceptional, all of the features have worked 100%, and dropped into a whiskey 3 chassis all I had to do was trim the mag catch a little. It’s been perfectly reliable with both MDT AICS mags, and double stack AW mags. Their CS is also great to deal with. It’s one of my favorite actions out of all the ones I’ve shopped for, because imo it combines all of the best features of aftermarket actions into one. 3 lug/60° throw, aw mags, mag over insertion stop, floating/interchangeable bolt heads (AND INEXPENSIVELY! Not $700 for a whole new AI bolt), trigger hanger, prefit savage barrels, etc etc etc.
With that being said, when it comes time for me to build my .22 trainer, I’ll be using a deuce. For one to mirror my center fire build, a deuce in a KRG X-ray would be super close for less $$ than another w3, two because I’ve been beyond happy with my deadline, and three I really like the features of the deuce. AFAIK the deuce is the only action to offer 60° throw in a .22, I like the ability adjust headspace personally because I’ll end up shooting lots of different ammo through it, and the one I played with at SHOT was super smooth.
Everything that I’ve seen and experienced with deadline says that the deuce is going to be an awesome setup as all of their other products so far have been, but you’ll ultimately have to decide if the deuce fits your needs the best vs something like the vudoo.
ETA: I also want to say, in my opinion the adjustable headspace is a bigger deal than most people say. I always hear how vudoo is known to shoot the Lapua? .22 ammo very well right off the bat, which is cool unless everyone is using a vudoo shooting the Lapua ammo and we end up with the same problem we have now in reloading 6.5cm. Where we can’t get any goddamn H4350. So yes you may have to take the time to adjust your headspace a little to get the best out of your ammo, but it’s a worthy trade off for the adaptability it offers imo.
