Looking for Large Range Box

For years I have toted all my crap (ammo, sandbags, targets, cleaning gear, spotting scope, tripods, chrono, etc) around in a variety of different containers to the range. Looks like I'm packing for a vacation and involves several trips back and forth from my vehicle to the bench.
I have (unsuccessfully) been looking for a box (maybe wheeled) that I can put everything in (less my rifles) that will accomodate all my gear.
I have considered the Pelican boxes but want to explore other options first.
I am thinking in terms of a customized or at least purpose specific aluminum box of some nature. If I have to go "custom" I might do that too but would prefer to get a production product of some nature for obvious (cost) reasons. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Tag.
Sounds like a good idea. I'll check some of the industrial supply houses like Grainger and Fastnal when I go back to work Monday.

I thought about making a cart to mount a heavy locking tote container on just for this same thing but never got around to it.

I tend to follow the KISS principle as much as humanly possible when making range trips, but I understand your pain. A shooting buddy of mine tends to take everything to the range with him but the kitchen sink (and even the sink tags along on some occasions).

After going through the same dilemma you are, he ultimately went to Lowe's or Home Depot and picked out a large rolling toolbox that is of sufficient size to carry several hundred rounds of ammo, magazines, a full-size benchrest and multiple bags, targets, spotter, cleaning gear and anything and everything one could possibly need for a week-long trip to the range. It is HUGE and weighs a metric ton, but it did accomplish getting all of his gear in a single, massive container. If I remember correctly, it is a Stanley FatMax (sp?) with large (maybe 6-8") wheels, but I'm not sure of the specific model or its exact dimensions. Might be worth a trip to your local home improvement store to see if they've got anything that will meet your requirements before you drop the coin on a Pelican/Storm type case or go the custom route.

Ive seen a guy use that rolling toolbox at the range. Just got to make sure not to fill that thing up or it will get heavy.

Parker plastic makes a variety of rolling cases. http://www.parkerplastics.com/

The problem with cases is stowing stuff in there without it getting mixed all up like a gun salad.

The bullseye shooters have neat cases, there is a swing door that you can attach a spotting scope. http://www.bullseyegear.com/bullseyepistol/home.php?cat=6

Have used a wagon for many years they work great. You can pull them over bumpy ground the folding option is great if you use a car to haul your stuff. For long range set up go to the farm store and get a cart that you can pull with the ATV.

Check out Ziegel Engineering (ziegeleng.com). They manufacture all kinds of transport boxes and cases. I purchased their "bullseye" box over 20 years ago, and it is very well made. There were cheaper options, but I typically follow my sig line when I'm after something to last the duration.
