Rifle Scopes Looking for possible replacement of my Bushnell HDMR H59

I'm evaluating replacing my Bushnell HDMR H59 with a different optic. This is running on a JP LRP-07 .308 w/ 20" barrel. I like the size of the scope, the reticle is growing on me, and I think the magnification is acceptable; mainly shooting 300-800 with some playing out as far at 1000. The one thing that I'd like to have, especially with the Minnesota winter approaching, it an illuminated reticle thinking it would help me with low light / bad weather shooting on my rural 600y range, and finally, zero stops would be appreciated.

I think the 'perfect' scope for me would be what I have with illumination, there are many things I like about the HDRM. I'm willing to increase price, and consider another reticle... but the 'Christmas tree' reticle is proving quite effective for followup shots in poor conditions.

With that said, what would you recommend I take a look at?

If I were you I would consider that Minnesota winters are not only cold but snowy. And a black reticle against a white snow background, shows up surprising well, and almost obviates the need for illumination.

That said, I would never stand in the way of anyone wishing to spend their hard earned $ to gain even marginal or theoretical improvements. Certainly there are such models, w/zero stops, Xmas trees, and illumination, to fulfill your desires, just go to a site like SWFA.com, shop a little, pick a few options that appear to fit your needs and post here for opinions.

The world of scopes that have Illumination, Zero Stops, and Horus reticles is really rather small....The below is what I yielded in a less than 5 minute google search ( I used illuminated horus H59 reticle as the search terms). The best data came from right here on Sniper's Hide: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-rifle-scopes/137168-h59-reticle-help.html

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm considering the Mark 8 and have done some searching around the interwebs. I was soliciting feedback as that's always revealed things I hadn't considered. Many of these are 300% more than what I paid for my HDMR. As for the contrast on white, I totally agree, where I struggle is from about now until it turns white.

You don't need a illuminated reticle to shoot in low light or bad conditions and to be a benefit you need one that goes very dim so it doesn't hinder you seeing the target. I can see why you want a zero stop, it's a great feature. If you're happy with your HDMR you may want to consider the ERS, it's basically the same thing but gets you zero stop and 10mil turrets which are also nice. You can also save a few bucks by getting the G2 reticle which is similar to Horus.

If you want to switch it up but keep a Horus bobs list is pretty good. If you want to switch it up and keep it compact the MK6 3-18 can be had with the H58 or Tremor 2.

FWIW, I find that the illuminated reticle is difficult to see in lowlight conditions (dusk/dawn). Has to do with the type of color of light at the early morning or late evening hours - the red blends into the hue of the environment. I have a NF F1.
