Didn't know where to post this and since this is the crowd that cares.... Those of you that were at the show saw that we had the PULSE setup in the booth and had people give their loudest clap and closest to 130 without going over. The loudest clap was 141.1 dB well actually Zak did 146.7 dB but he doesn't count. Zak said that smacking his hands together that loud really hurt.

Most claps were in the low 130 range. I just thought this was some interesting info. Lots of folks don't have any understanding of the dB scale.
On a side note I had two very well know writers from big magazines take a lot of interest in the system. I explained how their previous articles using non MilSpec machines to test did more of a disservice to the industry than any help. Having a B&K rep there to answer their questions also helped. I'll be having both of them out when the weather improves for days of testing and article writing. Our goal at Thunder Beast is to help have everyone get and share GOOD data.

Out of curiosity, why the 130db goal?
I think the goal is to get everyone using the same testing protocol, without a standard protocol companies can “optimize” the results to make their product seem quieter. TBAC using the MilSpec testing protocol speaks volumes to their ethical and production standards.

I was referring to this...

"had people give their loudest clap and closest to 130 without going over. "

My question is - why 130?
