Reloading these little monsters is a nightmare with the flat bottoms! Takes me like 20 seconds or more to balance a bullet before setting the depth ?. The little devils fall out and I have to hunt them down all over the floor. I’m tired of the balancing act.

The problem is that I love them!

Why don’t they make the 55 grain in a boat tail design like the 53 grains. Is there another brand of quality bullet that offers a 55 grain in boat tail?

having such a bullet would make reloading much much much faster

I use 50 and 55 vmax and the boat tail is slightly easier to seat. I bet the 55 only takes me a extra second or two at most. Like Spife said let the die do the work.

Why are you wasting your time doing that? Just set it on top and let the die seat it.

Not sure what you're asking me? I put the powder filled case into my press, then I set the bullet on top of the neck (I have to balance it as it's a tad bigger than the opening of the neck and it's a flat bottom) and then I pull on the handle of the press and the bullet is seated. I'm not sure you understand what I was asking in the first place?

Flat bottomed bullets are a b!tch to balance on top of the brass before the press seats the bullet. I have to raise up the bullet (with the handle) super slowly, or it will fall off the brass and I have to repeat the process. It's a nightmare

It's as matter of the balancing act before you raise it up for the die to seat the bullet. Not to mention the balancing act and slow movement needed with the press to ensure the bullet doesn't fall off the brass before its into the die

I set the bullet on the case neck and then pick up the case by case neck so that I also hold the bullet and slide it in my press. I don’t remove my fingers until the bullet has started into the seating die.
This method should work for the OP.
( nothing wrong with using a BT bullet either, I like Nosler 55s)

Hold the bullet on top of the case until the bullet enters the seating die.

I use the RCBS comp. seater with the window and have no problem with these. They're are my favorite for prairie dogs. I've loaded at least 2k of them. Hope it helps.
