Looking for input on what to put on my 17 and 22 rifle. I would perfer something that mounts to the scope or a rail but a mono would do I guess. Just for plinking around the house maybe 100 yds maybe $300. Am I looking for something that doesn't exsist? I know the quality for the price is going to be low, but I am just looking to id small game under 100 yrds mostly open fields.

If its cheap, you dont want it. I have a 6015 gen 4 unit and I almost shot my own dog once. Even with high end equipment, there is alot to be desired.

For $300, maybe rig up a monocular with duct tape and a holosight, that may get you by... Really just know anything good for that money.

For around $200, you can get an illuminator that will get a Gen1 out to around 100m, but only barely and you won't see much. Otherwise they are only good on nights with a full moon.
Also, best place to buy Gen1 is Ebay. Keep an eye out for something cheap.
If you want something useful, have a look at the Gen2 M845. For the price, they are very good I believe.
