I have a Leupold VX-L with the 56mm objective and the "half moon cut out" low mount style. The only rings I had were for a rubber armored scope and had the little teeth, I didn't want to chance denting or messing up my new Leupy so I have been trying to find a set of rings, but no one here has them. I accidently bought Super Sniper rings not knowing they were for pictanny rails.
The other issue being that I am afraid the Burris tactical/SWFA SS rings would be to wide and the scope wouldn't have room to mount, length wise between the eye piece and objective. I wanted TPS lows, but they are back ordered. so thought I'd ask if anyones mounted a VX-L with low mount rings? the guy at SWFA said he thought I might need mediums, but wasn't for sure. I want it mounted as close as possible, naturally.

Re: low or medium rings for VX-L?

If you are using Leupold STD mounts, lows. My boss mounts VX-Ls to all his rifles, be 50mm or 56mm. Using Leupold STD Rings. TPS rings try Brownells they usually have them in stock..

well I ended up buying a set of TPS low mount steel rings. should do fine for me. and the people at cabelas customer service said that the VX-L with 56mm will fit on low rings.
