I currently run TPS low rings on a Badger 22moa rail for my USO SN3 on my POF 6.5 creedmoor. I need the 20moa base to get the most out of my SN3, and like my stuff as low as possible.
This setup puts me at 1.355" above rail to centerline of scope and is great for the full rail on the POF MRR rail.
Problem is I just got a prototype rail that has less rails, including a cutout under the objective of my scope, and I can go as low as .96" rail to centerline now and would like to get a s close to that number as possible.
Is the NF Unimount at 1.125" the lowest 20moa base/ring possibility I have or are there any others? Does anyone make 30mm rings that are really low? Vtac lows would give me a C-hair lower mount on my Badger rail, but not enouch to switch. The almost 1/4" lower the NF would do would be worth it, and if there's any setups that could put me closer to 1" rail to centerline with 20moa I'd love to hear about them!

-I will disclose more on the POF rail soon, don't bother mucking this thread up with requests for info.

Sobr-

Do you really need the 22 moa? I ask, because with 6.5 CM, you don't need a ton of elevation to get to 1000. Might be worth checking into whether or not it is actually needed. It would open up your options quite a bit.

Yeah, I run out of elevation between 7.5-8.5 mils without it. Turret keeps going, but the reticle stops.
Shot the 900+ stages at the Utah State Sniper Shoot dialing 7 and holding over....

Re: Lowest 20MOA base/rings for an AR?

I think that the NF Unimount is about as low as it gets under those criteria...20MOA cant with height of 1.0". The second place finish to the height of the NF Unimount would be Seekins lows on your Badger 22MOA rail (still around 0.1" higher than the NF...only about 0.15" lower than your current setup).

The Seekins low rings are 0.82" base to center of the ring, so they aren't going to get you much lower than your current setup and only around 0.02 lower than the VTAC rings will get you.

Looking forward to details on the POF prototype rail soon (I think I've heard rumblings of this being "under development" so any info in the future will be much appreciated!).

Good luck and let us know if you find anything lower than the NF that still has a 20MOA cant!

Odd that the knob would keep turning without the reticle going anywhere... seems like something would be broken, wouldn't it? In any case then, what about the lower Nightforce unimount? They clear a tpal, have 20 moa cant built in, and I believe they come in lower than low rings combined with the Badger rise.

EDIT- ORD beat me to it.

Re: Lowest 20MOA base/rings for an AR?

the lower NF Unimount is the one that I referred to in my post (asking if anyone knows of any similar mounts lower than the 1.125" that the NF is).

I don't think the turret beyond the reticle's movement is any indication of a problem. Its a problem if the reticle doesn't return properly to zero (which mine does).
