Alrighty. A while back I bought an lr308. Not sure the original configuration. It's got a carbine tube. A carbine buffer and a carbine gas tube on a standard heavy 16 in barrel. So ap4ish. I put a vltor fixed stock on it and a Troy full length rail. Now. I have had feeding problems with 168 amax hand loads. 150 gr American eagle. And some surplus 147 gr. it'll run the first mag fine. Then every 1-2 shots it will jam up with a spent case and the next live one. I checked the extractor the ejector everything is fine. So I read and read and read. I installed a crane prong kit from BCm. Witt the extra spring and ring and little black support. Nothing, then I installed an syrac adjustable gas block. Started with it off and went one click at a time the whole way till it was over gasses and ejecting at the 1 o'clock position. Nothing. It had the same malfunction in every position. So this leads me to a bolt or chamber issue. Any ideas. And also what would dpms do on such a modified rifle. Would they blame it on me and not cover it. Olive heard the gritty chamber thing and I just can't see as it gets the case out of e chamber. It's just not ejecting it?

I'm about to try a new barrel with a rifle length gas tube. Unless I can figure something out

Thanks.

So someone cut the origanal 24" barrel down to 16"? If so it might be a gas block fit problem or not enough gas pressure problem. Whennpeople bring me there AR to look at ( im no smith, just a tinkerer)

First i will lube the shit out of it and try it. If that doesnt work I put there upper on a lower i know works and see if it has a problem. Then i put there lower on a upper that works. Then go from there. If you cant do that then i would check the cas key is tight on the bolt, make sure the gas tube doesnt hangup or touch or is worn going into the gas key, I have a piece of wire i use to poke up in the gas hole from inside the barrel with a very sharp point on it to feel the gas block and make sure its not covering the hole halfway. Also that dam LR has to have the Pmags to run right. I have had the cases to turn around backwards useing the steel mags. But this sounds different than just a mag problem. Also, make sure the bolt comes all the way back. It may have the wrong buffer for it. Can you put on a rifle spring and buffer to check if thats it? Hope you figure it out

Did.you see this thread about buffers down the page.

No its the standard 16 inch. I been running pmags. I just cleaned the piss out of it and rechecked everything I'm gonna grease her up good and try it. I just had some oil on it. Gas key is tight. It did it with both gas blocks so not that. Its got to be a lube issue. Or the ejector plunger is goofing. But its got plenty of pressure. It could be a buffer thing. But I figured the gas block down on low setting would eliminate that as well.
