Newbie on the site here from Australia . Just thought I'd take a quick couple o' snaps of my new rig for LR Pig , Goat & Deer on our property . Went 20" for ease of use and won't be shooting out past 1500 Yards . I've done a lot of hunting over the last 20yrs with a variety of calibre's & set-ups as we have a BIG problem with pigs on our 20,000 + acre cattle station .
Went with 338 LM as I'm sick of seeing lesser calibre's bouncing off pigs with body armour -ie; ( 1+ inches of mud caked on ) at distances greater than 300 yards & I want to develop my interest in ELR shooting as I'm tiring of simple eradication with our other platforms .
We shoot off Quad's , 4wd's and out of a Robinson R2 chopper .. as well as stalking boundaries to dense bush areas on foot and trapping with Extra Large Cages bolted into the ground with a one way trap door and baited.
For those of you overseas - we have more pigs in Australia than people .. and they are multiplying rapidly.
Anyhow I could go on and on but here's my Barrett 20" Barrel - running a Kahles K624i ( 6 - 24x56 )
MIL 6 reticle ( Horus Style ) love em' or hate em . I LOVE this reticle .. So easy to range targets on the fly without Turret adjustment .
