LR308 Build advice

Hey All,

Long time lurker. I am building a LR308 using a JD Machine matched set. I have the lower parts kit in, and I want to run a Vltor Emod stock. I also am gonna build the upper. I know JP precision makes great barrels, but I'm also kinda on a budget. Any suggestions?

Need more info. What are you planning to do with rifle? What is your budget?

currently I'm broke. I'm looking at rainer arms for the barrel. I plan to use it for plinking/target shooting.

JD Machine does very nice .308 receivers. I am running their set and hand guard. All the other metal parts I put in it are JP. I have over 2800 in just the assembled rifle with Magpul UBR stock and Miad grip. Then the Pmags, optics, bipod, etc.

I have enjoyed a good experience with a fulton armory barrel. In my opinion it offered all that I wanted for a reasonable price. The barrel is reported to come from Criterion.

Rainier barrels are good as well as the criterion barrels from Fulton. Arp has lightweight .308 barrel for $200 that would be good for plinking

One question I do have, and don't understand is how I am going to make the Vltor Emod stock fit. Do I need a specific buffer tube, spring and buffer? will that affect my Gas length?
