I have the light tactical on a .50BMG, it's by far the best bipod I've used. I got a Mk20 and I'd like to use this LRA Scout on it if it's smaller than the one I have. Euro doesn't have comparative measurements and I can't find any good images that compare 'em and half the time they're showing the wrong one anyway.

Anyone got both? Or a picture of a rifle wearing the LRA Scout?

I have the LRA Ultralight and the Light Tactical. Both of them perform as equally as stable whether under my .308 Savage or my 6.5 RPR. Fully collapsed they are both 7”. The Light Tactical will extend to about 9-3/4”. The Ultralight is an inch shorter at 8-3/4”. For what it’s worth, I’ve never run out of height on the Ultralight for prone shooting. The Ultralght also has finer leg notch increments. The Ultralight does have a narrower crane than the Light Tactical, but the barrel diameter on my RPR still remains within the triangle geometry of the legs. On my conventional stocked Savage, the Ultralight leg intersection apex is just barely above the centerline of the bore. Barrel rifling torque is equally controlled with either bipod. The riffle in the attached pics is the Ruger RPR.

The Ultralight seems to be more at home underneath an AR style handguard since it has a narrower crane. The wider crane of the Light Tactical plays well with conventional or chassis type stocks that typically have the barrel centerline located higher above the attachment point. If you have to add a picatinny to ARCA adapter to one of these bipods, the wider crane of the Light Tactical would help make sure your barrel centerline remains within the triangle geometry of the legs.

Wow, thanks, that is a big help. I really do appreciate the pictures. It is quit a bit smaller, rather more compact, than the Light Tactical. The Light Tactical is great under a DTA HTI .50BMG but I think it's a bit overkill on a Mk20.

I have an Atlas under an SR25 that I don't like for a number of reasons and if the LRA ain't gonna work then I'd rather just have a tricked out Harris. At least it's light and user friendly.

The Ultralight looks like it'll work on these smaller rifles, I'm gonna give it a shot. I do plan on using a tripod later on, but figure I can put that mount closer in or use QD mounts for that and the bipod and swap between the two, which may be better for multiple rifles, only needing the one mount and a spare.

Yeah, judging by the awesome pictures that gigamortis put up (thanks again) I think I got enough to go by to feel comfortable pulling the trigger on the smaller LRA for the Mk20.
