Gonna be in the area the week of December 2nd, wondering if there is anything to hunt near bye, and perhaps a champ who would show me around in exchange for my good natured company. Will be working, but may have a little time to get out.

Not much hunting around Lubbock. Once you get out of town, it's pretty void of life for quite a ways.
There is some prairie dog hunting to be had nearby.
Check at Fred's Guns for ranchers who'll allow that. Feed stores would be a lead for that also.
I went to school there at Texas Tech & violated many a dog town in those times.

Thanks relentless, I was hoping for something a little bigger than prairie dogs. Are there any other critters out there?
Not much that I know of out that way. If you were coming through the other side of dallas, would be glad to have ya at our place to try and get rid of some pigs.

Do it. Can't promise the pigs would be there but we see them all the damn time except when I want to kill one.... Nice glass of whiskey, cigar, and camp fire sure are good though.

I hunted pigs just outside of Lubbock. They are there. There are a few ranches around there that cater to pig hunts. Lots of coyotes in the area also.
I don't remember the place I went, wasn't very good anyway. I typed in Lubbock Texas hog hunting and came up with Hog Hunting Ranch near Lubbock. Sounds promising from the website.
