Movie Theater Lucy

SPOILER ALERT!!!
OK, Scarlett is attractive.
The first 60% or so, is reasonably interesting and has some nice special effects and action.
The end of the movie degenerates into a search for ultimate brain capacity to discover...purpose, origins, ??? etc...
Evolutionary & Preachy.
The heavy-handed Darwinism makes for a boring and pointless conclusion.
In the Beginning, there was...uh...A beginning.
Nothing more, nothing less, just random chance in a pitiless universe.
Morgan Freeman tries to make sense of it all.
Watch it for free when it is on Netflix.

Just watched it today and wish I would have read this first. Pretty much summed it up. I love the movies and almost just walked out of this one.

sawit last night, plot was pretty thin and could have been soo much more, a lot of time screen time was wasted with cut scenes and minute details that could have been spent on more action or development, it was entertaining most of the time but will be easy to forget.

Just watch the trailer, all the best parts are in it.

I was hoping for it be an Action flick, but not much really happens. Save your money and your time

My wife and I went to see it last night. We hesitated because I told her that the gents from the Hide weren't raving about it. "Should we go see it then?" She asked. "Yeah, they're also saying Scarlett Johansen is hot," I replied. Regardless of the flawed science (when are Hollywood movies ever 100% based in reality) we both thought it was a good movie. It was heavy toward the idea of evolution, but the end when she reaches 100% suggested the notion that God could exist and would have the power to create. I didn't see it as an agenda movie like I thought the movie Noah was (all good people are vegetarians) and the effects were good. The best line in the movie came from Morgan Freeman, "Humans are more concerned about having than being."

I didn't like the pointless gun fight at the end. Not necessary at all. And yes, there are plenty of theoretical holes in her abilities as she's accessing x% of her mind. Like Texote noted above, I thought the movie would have more action and if you're expecting to see that, this probably isn't for you. If you like movies that explore human behavior and theoretical science, then this will get you thinking. It's no "Inception," but it's not bad.

.
Totally agree with what Ghandi said I'll add: The action scene's and theme remind me of "Crank" a lot however a lot is wasted on time, clips, cuts kinda like my money and time in going to see this. A friend wanted to see it so thats what made the decision, save your money an wait for it to be on FX or something in a year.

I would give the movie a C+ at best. Interesting in some parts, dragging slow in others and then the plot or lack thereof just went from interesting to out space crazy. Wait for Redbox...at best

I saw this a couple weeks ago and thought it was pretty lame. I don't know how they got Morgan Freeman to partake in this film when his show through the wormhole is by far more intellectual than this. I think there was even an episode that disproves the whole we only use 10% of our brain theory.
