Long time deer, bird & waterfowl hunter. Started reloading and making weekly appearances at the NRA range or a local outdoor range about 3 years ago. After building 5 AR15 based rifles and pistols, I needed a large frame rifle to work on long range skills.

This board has already provided excellent guidance in the areas of reloading and rifle building. My large frame was built on a tight budget, required a bit of tinkering, but the end result was very satisfying. Here is the build:

Panther Arms matched DPMS Upper & Lower
RTB Enhanced Nickel TEFLON Plated Trigger Assembly
Ballistic Advantage 24" 6.5 Creedmoor barrel
Generic Gas Block
12" MLOK Handguard
AR15 Stainless steel rifle length gas tube
Sharps Xtreme Performance BCG w/ Dual Ejectors - 17.7oz
Generic 4oz Short .308 Buffer
Bushmaster AR15 Carbine Length Buffer Tube w/collapsible stock
Strike Industries Flat Wire AR10 spring.
Cabela's Covenant 5 TX 5-25X56 FFP scope.

I'm not big on posting pictures of firearms on the net but I will post a picture of a target while developing loads using the 3 round OCW reloading method. Rifle was supported by a bean bag in the rear and a bipod in the front. This was 3 rounds at 100yrds with 35.3gr of IMR 4895 under a Hornady 140gr Interlock at 2.680 OAL. No signs of pressure because the rounds averaged 2539 fps. At 36.5gr the group was just under an inch but the speed increased to an average of 2645 fps. The Ballistic Advance barrel is capable of putting the round exactly where it is aimed, and far more capable than I am a shooter.

Look forward to continuing my education and hopefully making small contributions along the way.
