Hello
I have an older Lyman-Ohaus M5 that I am setting up as a back up scale but do not know much about this kind of scale. When I am not using it, should I remove the pan, pan holder and arm and put it back in the case or can I just leave everything as it is?

I always take my little beam apart and put it back in the box for storage but thats just because of how infrequently I use it, easier to stack a box up than to make counter space available full time for it to occupy.

Nothings going to happen to it though if its just sitting there.

I never take mine apart for storage, just leave it where I use it. Occasionally I’ll take the beam and pan holder off and dust them and the base with a paint brush. Love the scale. One kernel of powder will show movement on the pointer.
