I have an M14 EBR gen 1. I love hunting with it but is it just me or the ergo of the stock is poor for benchrest shooting ?

Really struggling holding a back sandbag and have a hard time holding the stock really tight in my shoulder in colder weather with a coat.

I have the same problem. It's not just with the Sage however. Anything AR with a carbine stock becomes a cluster for me on the bench. I'm always having to try a different combination of bags and i probably own 10 now. If I could just shoot them prone with a bipod and rear bag 100% of the time, I would.

If I'm having a really bad day or my pulse is really noticeable I will just hold them as loose as possible. Not quite a free recoil, but close.
