Trying to decide between these 2 rifles,
Colt is 16", 1-12 twist, some proprietary parts, No parts available just factory warranty, monolithic upper, Can swap out to 223 upper with an added 300.00 adapter.

M&P is a 18" barrel, 1-10 twist, would want to change out to a front rail and need rail and gas block. No available parts just warranty.
The difference in price is almost 700.00 My question is, is the colt worth the 700.00 more

Which would you choose and why, Thanks please make choice between these 2 rifles, Both have limited lifetime warranty. This will be a keeper for me not interested in selling it. But my wife probably will if something should happen to me so in that since re-sale is important.

Want this rifle for say 600 yard max target, Hunting, recreational fun, protection at a longer range.

A buddy of mine has the M&P10 and really likes it. Its a solid gun for the price. With that $700 you saved you can get the gas block and rail and still have a bunch left over for ammo.

In my experience, Colts are "better" rifles. They are reliable and have great customer service. They also have been making the AR for a while. They are fine tuned. The option for 5.56 an .308 is a big plus. I don't her many people bragging about their M&P either. However, that doesn't mean anything. Just my 2 cents.
