So I typed out this whole damn review and then lost it! Short of it is I ran this .45 against the custom 1911 MC OP and it was right there. I wanted a threaded barrel and they are hard to come by for the mid size so I got a full size and had it turned down and threaded.

Very happy with this gun and impressed!!

With a full size you will have no issues getting a threaded barrel. The mid size/compact with the shorter slide is where it gets sticky. As far as turning it down, the OD of the barrel is turned down to .578 then threaded to the 28 thread pattern. You do this with a standard barrel to get the threaded option in the compact slide. I used a local machine shop where the owner is very knowledgable. However any machinist should be able to turn it and thread it for you.

Hope this helps
