Thought I'd look into getting some magazine extensions for my M&P9.

The ones that seem to come up most often are the arredondo extensions.

Thought I'd see what sniper's hide's experience has been with them. Have you needed to install stronger magazine springs to run them reliably?

Re: M&P9 mag extensions

Get the Taylor Freelance. They're made very well and I have never had a problem with mine. I have them for my M&P .45 and 9mm. You can also get an extension for a 9mm that holds 10 extra rounds. Have you also looked at the extended magazines made by S&W?

Does S&W offer extended magazines for calibers other than .45?
The OP has a 9mm.

Re: M&P9 mag extensions

I have a Taylor Freelance +10 and it is hit or miss if it will take the additional ten or only a couple. Just my 2cents.

Re: M&P9 mag extensions

ColeJack, it matters what gun he has. For the M&P compact yes, you can buy an X Grip which allows you to use a full size magazine on a compact. For a full size 9mm I haven't found one yet that I know of although I do remember (in a blurry way) someone having an extension that fit on a 9mm full size and it didn't look like a Taylor Freelance or the Arredondo, possibly wrong though. Are you guys sure there isn't one?

Correct. Only offered in 45.

Re: M&P9 mag extensions

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have a full-size M&P 9. Looking for the extended mags to run with my osprey coming soon.

I'll take a look at the Taylor's in that case!
