You think I'm going to facilitate you ripping of our idea to make these in your trailer manufacturing facility? Fuck You, Douchbag!

So it will fit in a standard garage.

Josh, nice job. Where are pics with the blind and cooler on top.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

Looks good CKA!

My dad had an aluminum trailer made about 17ish years ago, which has a motorized "upper deck" quite similar to what you've done. I'll add some pics if/when I find some.

He did it for his hunting/fishing rig.

I like yours though, for the lock-up potential.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

I realy like the desighn aad am thinking to make one similar for my own personal use on my 8X5 trailer i already have and i think CKA would gladly help others to make someting for personal use and it hink that is part of the reason to share the idea but i would not think it correct to copy it then sell them commercialy not unlawfull just not right i say make any you want for personal use but design another thing if you want to sell them.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

Trust me CKA is not the first person to come up with a trailer like this.... There are plenty of prarie dog rigs alot like this...
That is the American way someone starts with an idea then poeple improve it market it sell it what ever.....
I give credit to CKA for putting it up here and reminding me about the project I had already started...
The trailer is really cool, it has some neat ideas. That does not mean anyone that sees it can not or should not want to make one, two etc... Hell, even sell them....
Trust me I will not be selling them. Just the material cost would be 6000.00 +

i Know and i think they will be amasing and also in a completly diferent price range even if they were identical wich i dont think they will then people that will buy one wont buy the other they dont compare in that way i think if the elevating design was not incorperated like this one but we dont even know how it works so it could not be then it is a trailer with a roofl and like people say it has been done before by a lot of people and the other thing is i thought CKA you were not interested in building them if that is so what is wrong with another picking it up? if you are going to make them that is different if they are made of Alloy with differences there shoudl be no issues especialy if it elevates it uses a diferent design to di it then it is not the same. From the pics of the Alloy chassis they are completly diferent to start with gret concept Like i said it has inspired me to convert my own trailer but i dont know how if i will make the top adjustable for height i might make it fixed the height of my 4X4's roof rack it will make it cheeper and easier aswell as lighter.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

CKA I'm glad to see that you are staying off the streets and that toddacguy let you help him with this project.

I like it, I too think to enclose it somehow when folded down makes sense as some folks actually have to travel away from their homes to shoot and having it look alike a common cargo trailer would be nice.

I'd say figure a way to go up to 10-12 foot (I have an idea) and so it can be deployed and left (I have an idea) so call me.

And for the record, the trailer that gizmo is on, looks like a exact copy of another trailer...

Good luck!

Did you purposely come in here to sling mud? He made a cool ass trailor FOR SHOOTING and is showing it off. I would get a little upset to if someone came in here asking a bunch of technical specs then reveal that you intend to copy him, ehh I mean improve his design, and use 6 of them? Come on dude..... play nice!

Have you ever read any of the man's threads? You do know this is a guy who does package hunts in US and abroad, including some African hunts he sold to board members a while back... I'm pretty sure he can find a use for them, especially since he's in hog hunting paradise down there in Texas.

Also, since there has been no talk of patents, then he's pretty much good to go. If CKA and his pals don't like it, then they should apply for a patent on the design. My guess is that there are probably hundreds for similar trailers already... these style of hunting trailers (and these types of platforms on top of trucks, jeeps, etc.) have been cruising around Texas and other parts of the south for many years, in all sorts of incarnations. They are quite prevalent in other nations as well.

How many times can you copy a copy of a copy and then say it's original? I'm not insinuating that CKA's is a direct clone of anything, simply that this idea isn't new to the world. I'd be willing to bet there are other aluminum ones out there too. Fuck man, about 2 weeks ago I looked at something very similar to this at a Sportsman's Warehouse about 30 min from home. It was a bigger unit (not a garage sized one) and had an ARB folding tent on the top too, it was pretty sweet. While certainly different, it's based on the same ideas. Better go ahead and sue them too.

While I can understand the resentment of the OP, the rest of you bandwagoneers need to slow your roll. It's not like the guy asked to borrow it for a weekend and clone it. If CKA doesn't approve then he does not have to give him any info. Pretty simple.

Some days I think this board should be named dramahide. Grow up.

I simply wanted to know why all the questions. Then CKA pretty much gives him the FO signal but he kept asking technical questions. Then reveals he is going to build something similar but out of aluminum.... that just sounds off to me.

I've seen what you are referring to at Sportsman's. That is nothing like what CKA has made. How much time did you waste typing all that nonsense out?

Wasn't trying to piss down the guys back. Just wanted to know why it sounds like he is coming off like that....

I could not have said it better, but I do all this for fun. I do not see anything wrong with asking questions to better yourself
or improve your life. I am sure CKA asked poeple questions about thier trailers etc... while putting his together.
Also, when has CKA ever listen to someone telling him to FO ?????
I view this forum is a place to learn and discuss ideas, knowledge, to become better in your personal quest to be a better shooter.
I will help most anyone out there... ( I will not help those that will not help themselves...)
This is my last time I will post on this thread... I made my own....( Great trailer CKA and who ever helped with building and designing it also!!!! )

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

All of y'all are arguing a lot of shit I never said. I am not, nor will ever be, facilitating someone making money off of my hard work. I don't give a shit what anyone thinks is the American way - I'm not going to hand my stuff over to someone to make a profit off what I did. You want to build these and sell them? Fine. Figure out how to build them yourself. Prior to all this bs I would have helped someone build their own if they wanted.

Kasey that is a flatbed I bought from Tractor Supply. WTF? You can see the labels right on the fenders. I'll buy all the rip-off Atlas bipods I can when they start coming out of China.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

I would like to build one for myself, but I can't afford the trailer, let alone the steel...

That thing kicks ass Jay, I really like how it cages in the 4wheeler when in travel mode.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

All kidding aside Jay, it's an excellent idea and a very well thought out project. You guys did a great job, what else would I expect from my Lone Star bros!!!

By the way "Boudreaux's" fishin camp ain't dat nice!! lol

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

CKA, I called and you sounded like a chic on the machine so I guess the hormones are taking effect thus why you are so sensitive....

Come-on Josh, I was having fun but by the time you got there you were mad and didn't see/get the joke about your gizmo and copying a trailer....

My offer stands, I'll still share my lame ideas with you.

Who are these "Chinese" you are speaking of and why all the anger?

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

That is a great idea. And it's even got my quad on it. I've been contemplating building a trailer from scratch for a while with some sort of overhead platform like yours. Something with some weatherproof boxes to put some weapons in when my truck starts getting full of people.

I like the setup and will take some notes.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

just wondering if you thought something similiar to this could be made on a smaller trailer and still be stable enough

I've got a little 6x4 that just sits next to a barn, something like that would allow us to shoot a little further on a buddies property without leaving something permanent to piss of his inlaws.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

Okay, CKA called and apologized, not just apologized, he thanked me so profusely and offered so much, well, it got weird and was fairly embarrassing as he was on the speakerphone.... Anyhow, once he stopped his insistent blubbering he promised to send me some steaks, I accepted his apology (out of compassion) but refused the steaks as I will not knowingly eat horse.

And true to my word, I gave him a ton, well, okay not a ton but more than 79 ideas and suggestions on how to build a better gizmo. I believe I see some of them already in that last picture he posted.

rrflyer, from afar, yes, it is not the size of the trailer as much as it is the size of the footprint the stablizer's make. Start slow and taper off, and when you get one done that does not suit you. Post it up in that other thread; "This whole project started out like this".

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

CKA, I am placing an order for one of these.

I'll put disco lights and smoke machines on it an have my Plus-Sized women doing Go-Go girl dancing at all of the tractor pulls in this region. I will then pimp them for money in my motor home. Can you install a stripper pole, vending machine and a toilet?

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

Too cool for school! You guys rock. Now instead of building a movers stage, you can just drag the platform behind your truck.

Re: M-STOMP - a mobile shooting tower that we made

Awesome box needs a ladder.

Something like this in the corner supports. They swivel up and out of the way or down and hit stops so you can climb up. Will swivel to either side.

or

Something like this which has steps that fold out on both sides.
