i have recently started reloading for my savage 10fp. i first worked a ladder test for 175grain smk using prvi brass and cci br2 primers, and 4064 powder. i tested 41 grains up to 43 grains in .5 grain intervals, when i started blowing primers.41grains was giving me best group at a hair over .5moa and a velocity avg 2605fps. i decided i wanted to switch to m118lr brass and tested same loading resulting in avg 2638fps but closer to 1 moa. my quandary is now whether i should,
a) ladder test up to try and match m118lr factory speeds(2715 out of my rifle) with the point being to have same trajectory as factory inventory,or,
2) drop a scotch to see if i can hit that old accuracy node with the different brass at a slower speed and not use factory fare for my dope tables.(or possibly keep two sets of dope?)

anyway any thoughts are appreciated as im new to reloading.

If you aren't using the same powder, there is a good chance that it isn't going to match it at hotter and colder temperatures. M118LR is loaded with RL-15. If your goal is to match the military loading, you should use the same powder.
