M1A in 6.5 Creedmoor

This is an M1A. There are issues beyond Max or minimum pressure. Powders with the wrong burn rate can and will bend OP Rods.
Proceed carefully. Do some research on proper powders for the 7.62 and try them first.

Jon Wolfe did some testing with 6.5 CM in an M14 a few years back. He concluded the powders used in 6.5 CM burned too slowly and resulted in too much pressure at the gas port. He settled instead on 6 XC running Varget. I would trust him over anything out out by Springfield Armory.

Be careful with your loads in case you bend the OP rod. On the other hand, if you do Springfield will replace it.

With the m14 do they make the gas relief block that people put in the Garand's to stop the op rod form bending? I could be wrong but I haven't really heard of people bending m14 op rods all that often since they are a much straighter design from the Garands. I have 2 m14's in 308 and I have shot some pretty hot load's through it with no issues.
