I need some advise. I have an M1A Scout with EBR stock and Magpul PRS stock. I bought the ARMS #19 mount to mount my scope. The problem is I cannot get the scope far enough back to get the right eye relief. I have to push my cheek forward of the cheek piece to get the proper sight picture. I was thinking maybe a reverse cantilever mount(LaRue)? I know I'm not the first to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Re: M1A Scope Mounting Question

Do you mean ARMS 18?

Is the turret hitting the rear ring?

You can try a DCSB like the LaRue or Sage but they do make the scope a bit high.

You could try a Bassett low picatinny mount, I think they come a little further back.

What scope are you using?

Re: M1A Scope Mounting Question

Yes ARMS 18 mount my fault. Using Nikon 4x12x40. The issue isn't the anything hitting. I just need the scope to go back farther so I don't have to crane my neck to get a good sight picture. The rings I have are set as far back as they can go. I need something that puts the rings further back, like a reverse Larue. I'm going to call LaRue on Monday and ask them. Just wanted to see if anyone here has the answer.

Re: M1A Scope Mounting Question

Never used an ARMS mount but I do have a SEI mount on my M1A standard topped with a nikon monarch 4-16x42. No eye relief issues.

Judging by pictures of the ARMS 18 it has roughly the same amount of rail space as the SEI so I don't see why you would have problems unless the PRS has an unusally long LOP.

Is your scope mounted as far back in the rings as it can go?
