M24 barrel contour vs 700 P contour

Is the M24 barrel contour the same as the 700P contour? On a similar topic, is the M24 contour the same as the M40 contour?

700p should be a standard varmint contour. and a varmint barrel

m24 is a long action while m40 is short action is main difference. I haven't fired/held/don't know spec of m40's barrels since its kind of a marine rifle. But from what i gather they are sister rifles.

The M24 is almost a strait taper profile. It is .980" nominal at the muzzle IIRC.
The P barrel is slightly thinner.
