M24 Scope base advice needed

Hi everybody, This is my first thread, i am a new(er) member.
Im building an Remington M24 Clone(ish)rifle.
So far i have everything i need except the rock barrel which i will have to wait on for a while so i am using a factory varmite barrel of 24 inches, I have been looking around for a scope base and have decided on the badger, my action is ready to go with the 8X40 already drilled and tapped.

I have been debating between the badger M24 spec base and the leupold 2 piece bases. Just wandering if any body can offer advice on which to go with or if there are any selections that i dont know about.

Also are there any really good places to purchase the base.Any recomendations.
I havent had to much luck any imput would be appreciated

Buy the m24 base from Badger you can get it from SWFA they are a hide supporter.

Also remember that is a flat base and was designed for the Leupold M3.If your using another scope you may want something like a Badger with a 20 moa built into it.

Are you building on a long or short action? The 306-07M24 mount is long action only. I also don't see this mount on Badgers web site anymore. Either it's discontinued or it's special order.

Go with the one piece base. If you can't find the Leupold go with the Badger. If you post a WTB thread one here I am sure one will pop up. As stated above if you are going to use the M3A you need the 0 MOA base. If not you may want a 20 MOA depending on your optics choice. JAA

I will be using a mark 4 m3
also it is long action. I found the badger base listed at triad
i will look at swfa as well. I think i am still to new to post a thread in that section but ill try again.

Curnow26, Just to be sure you do know there is a difference in a MK4 M3 and a MK4 M3A which is the correct optic for the M24. I am not trying to be a know it all, but don't want you to not realize the difference. I know I did not at one point. JAA

Ok the M3a ultra is the one no longer around( i think)
the one i will have on the rifle is actually the one on leupolds web site Mark 4 10x40mm LR/T M3, The ultra is the one that is almost impossible to find, rite. Will the mark 4 m3 standard bdc cap work for any 168gr match ammo federal, black hills ect.

Hhhhmmmm, I saw units using Leupold LRT 3.5-10X40 on their systems.
ODA was running a nightforce NXS on their M24 which was changed to .300WM.

The M3A's are hard to find but not impossible. It just depends on what your looking for.
