I have a Remington M24A2 which came set up for the Ops Inc. 3rd Model can (it has 11/16-24 threads and the chamfered barrel profile). Unfortunately, those cans are a bit hard to find and my local dealer didn't think the M24 version could be ordered from AE directly.
I'd like to stick with a reflex style can - is it possible to use an AE30 instead by:
- Sending out the Remington barrel to have the threads turned down to 5/8-24?
- Or leave the rifle untouched but have the threaded portion of an AE30 opened up a bit and re-cut for the bigger 11/16 threads?
Any thoughts are certainly appreciated!
