the A5 has the same crown as the A3 I believe except it is threaded for the surefire. Correct me if I am mistaken

This spec gives the depth and angle but not the inner dimension. Don't know what to call it. Is there not a standard for that?

You are right, no real spec on that but look on GAP's site for a "perfect" crown.

Yes, I've seen many at the old RTE shop and they varried. Contact George; he can guide you. I wanna say around .1 inches, but been a while.

I just measured my M40a3. The inside dimension is .750 and the oustide dimension is .105. The rest is the same 45 degrees .090 deep. I know that stays the same but looking at those pics of the crowns the inside/outside dimentions might vary a few thousandths but they are all the same. Just depends on who the gunsmith is that is doing it. The M40a1 and M40a3 have the same crown cut. The M40a5 has no crown because it has the SF adaptor for the suppessor. The M40 has a flat crown. I hope that this helps out.
