Re: M40, wood stock,Redfield scope spec gun?
Ive taken the photos and lost the cord that connects camera to computer! My last one is a mid 50's civilian (non CMP) mod 70 target in 95% condition that I put in a '49 std mod 70 stock, mounted a 15X Unertl ultra varmint. Ive done a few sub 1/2 " at a 100 with some old Federal 168 gr match ammo, almost that good with Fed 180 gr sp ammo. Im having to get used to the stock and metal butt plate, Ive shot 30 cals since the early 70's but dog damn this rig kicks after initial sight in and several 5 shot groups. I am true blue to the core Winchester poor and shooter but am excited to research and build and early M 40 rig.Im starting with my Dads like new accurange scope that I would like to have anodized. I know the early ones had trouble with wood stocks and Redfield scopes in the SE Asia climate but Ill baby... but shoot hell out of mine. Thanks for any skinny, links to these guns
