There is "clip slotting", where the slot in the bridge is designed to receive the "tits" on the charging strips, and "lug slotting", where the slot in the bridge is a simple rectangular cut just to receive the lug on a scope base.

The first, six-digit M40A1s had true "clip slots". What did the later "E" series actions get? Does anyone know for a FACT if they were clip slotted, or lug slotted? Snipers wouldn't usually know, unless unusually observant, since the small cuts for the charging strip tits are almost entirely hidden when the lugged scope base is installed.

I'd like to hear from anyone who knows for a fact what the "E" actions got, not what someone told you, or what you've seen on A-3s/5s, or what's on your M40A1 build by so-and-so "because they only build 'spec'". I suspect there must be some 2112s here somewhere from THAT time period (mid to late 1990s), or who were instrumental in converting "E" series M40A1s into M40A3s who REMEMBER and KNOW.

Thanks.
