I have 9-10 months before my action gets shipped of to Hart for an M40A1 barrel install and action blueprinting, so I have time to decide what I want to do about the bottom metal/trigger. With this, I may purchase a mini-mill ... could use the tool anyway and it would make it much easier to do the required mill work.
A key reason the Marines went with the Win bottom metal, based on what I have read, is the flimsy bottom metal supplied from Remington. With the quality bottom metal options available for Rem 700s today, this is no longer the case, so am still deciding on whether to build a spec-build or a more modern interpretation.
