I am having an M40A3 built up and I am going to need a scope. Until I win the lottery, I am going to have a substitute scope put on this gun. All other parts are correct, but this one. Which bugs the shit outta me, but not much I can do about that. So....

The scope I am thinking of as a substitute would have something in the neighborhood of 3-15 x 50mm with a 34mm tube and tactical knobs. Can anyone suggest a scope with these specs? Admittedly, I know next to nothing about scopes. So I am relying heavily on you guys.

    Nighforce 3.5-15x FFP or SFP.
    Leupold MK6 3-18x
    Vortex 5-20x
    Bushnell 3.5-21x

    For the PRICE
    Voretex PST
    Bushnell 6-24x
Burris XTR II 4-16x or 4-20x.

We stock a lot of scopes so if we can be of help let me know.

I'm seeing a lot of more scopes for 30mm rings, but not as many for a 34mm. Did I do myself a disservice by "staying true" to the NSN parts and getting a 34mm set of 306-75 Badger Rings when I am not getting the exact scope? Should I have gotten the 306-24 30mm rings instead?

Grab a set of Badger Ordnance 34mm to 30mm reducers and rock on with an economy 30mm until you get the 34.

I'm thinking that you could wait a few months and get the new steiner 3-15 coming out.
Also, contact Bushnell directly, they will give you a .mil price that should make the LRHS or 3.5-21 VERY attractive.

So far, reports have been very positive on the new Burris XTR II line and the 3-15 or 4-20 should fill in quite nicely

Use your discount to buy the G2 then when you have the $$$$, sell the scope and buy the S&B -- Solid plan btw.

They normally, specifically ask that you not do that type of thing.
While legally, you could probably do it, ethically it is breaking your promise.
If a man doesn't have his word, what does he have?
Selling to another .mil would certainly stay within the intent of the program and I would have no problem with.

Hey man, I didn't suggest it, just said it was a solid plan if that's what he was doing.

He could also pass on the love and sell it to a .mil individual...But, alas, I have no control over him, his intentions or his moral code.

That being said -- Marines make due, do they not?

I probably should have quoted the original post that suggested that course of action, but I also thought that condoning said course of action was worthy of comment.
Not making judgements, just stating my feelings on the matter.

I hold the core values of Honor, Courage, Commitment rather dear and still abide by them 7 1/2 years after retirement.

I followed the core values before I joined the Corps. Still do. What kind of discount are we talking? PM is you don't want to put it out to the public.

What is this scope? Is there some place I can read up on it?
