Rifle Scopes M84 Scope

I saw a Garand with a M84 scope today for sale. I wanted to get it but how do I know if the scope is original? I saved the serial number to my phone.

Does anyone know where/how I could verify if this thing is original or a reproduction?

I could be wrong but I have never heard of anyone producing replica M84 scopes. Early 03A4 scopes yes, but not M84's.
