I have tried using the search function, but didn't find what I was looking for. I'm trying to find out information about compairsons of the various magazine systems that use the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare mags for 308/260 length cartridges.

So far, I know that Badger and Seekins make systems. Are there other systems that use these magazines that are worth consideration, and what are the benefits and problems of the various systems?

You fellows were great help when I was looking for info on 6.5mm cartridge selection, and action selection. So far, I'm chambering the barrel for 260 Remington and going to use the Defiance machine action, Obermeyer 5R barrel, rifle Basix trigger w/safety, probably an HS precision stock with aluminum bedding block unless something like a Manners or Mcmillan turns up reasonably priced without a long wait. I still haven't decided on the magazine system, so that is where I'm hoping to get some help.

Re: Magazine systems

I'm sort of surprised that I haven't received much feedback on this so far. I have found a number of makers of magazine systems, but I think the HS precision one only uses HS precision magazines.

Badger, Seekins, are the only ones I have found so far that will use the AI/AW magazines. Seekins ran a special deal for sniper'shide members just a while back.

I have heard that Surgeon also makes a system, but I need to find out more about it. I don't know which magazines the Surgeon system takes...but their quality is beyond reproach as far as I can tell.

CDI precision. Also might want to look at the Wyatt's detachable mag systems.

Re: Magazine systems

CDI, Seekins, R&D Precision, Badger, Hooper, and Surgeon. Any bottom metal that takes AICS mags will take the AW mag as well. The problem is the receiver will not take AW mags unless it's been machined to take the mag. The AW mag and the receiver are not plug and play.

Wyatt's is a proprietary mag it does not take AICS or AW mags.
