Hi folks
I used the download link on MS´s website and downloaded the latest FW version, which is said to be 3.0.04. I unzipped it and transfered the respective file onto the SD card, inserted it, while unplugged, into the device and started it holding enter button down. I choosed slow upgrade following the directives provided by the device and the upgrade started. Few minutes later the upgrade was done but surprisingly the device when started still showed FW version 3.0.03. What am I missing?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards

Bernhard

I want to update everybody on the subject matter. I got in touch with the support of MS. Ryan Hey was ready to help within very short time which is much appreciated. It turned out, that there has been a mistake on their website. They now offer the actual FW version 3.0.04 for download. If one downloaded the word document onto the sd card outside the device on the pc and named it fw.hex, then insert the sd card ino the device, press and hold enter button and start the device, choosed slow upgrade, the installation process runs successfully. Thereafter the device indeed shows FW version 3.0.04.

Sorry for my poor english, but I hope this may be helpfull to others facing the same problem.

Thanks for the update.

Did Magnetospeed list what upgrades fixes the new firmware includes?

Changed the production self-test to reflect new fuse settings that are programmed at the factory. These new fuse settings prevent a rare issue where FW (but not bootloader) is lost due to a brownout event. A brownout event is when the battery voltage dips below the safe operating limit for the given processor speed. A brownout event can happen if the V3 is left on and the battery dies, but only rarely is the FW lost or corrupted.
