I recently sold my 7mm and would like to use up the last of the primers that I have. If I was to cut back the load on my .308 lets say a grain to a grain and a half could I use these magnum primers for my load?

Yes. Just work the load back up and see what it does.

Cutting the powder charge and working it back up for that type of primer will indeed work. If you only have a few I would offer to trade with a friend that also loads magnum loads. If you have several thousand then it might be worth it to work up a new load with the mag primers. Personally, I wouldn't do it for just a hundred or two. But that's just me. You need to do whatever YOU think is the right thing.
