Correct for BLC(2) if shooting in cool/cold (<45*)weather, do to the deterrent coating that was used years ago.

46 grs of BLC(2) pushing a 147gr FMJBT is a good choice to dup the old M59/60 loading. Step up to 47.3 if you want M80 performance.

Speer uses magnum primers with ball powders in all of their load developments.

They don't say you have to, just that in their testing, mag primers did a better (more accurate?) job touching off the fine grained propellants.

The last .308 only ASC match was shot with issued ammo manufactured by CORBON. Winchester Case, LR primer, using BLC(2) topped with a Sierra 175 MK. The ammunition worked great!!!
