Magpul chassis issue

My magpul magnum mag won’t catch the mag release in my long action pro... advice? Even if I pound the bottom of the mag trying to get it to catch, it will not.

The bolt. I could shave the catch notch on the mag down, but if it's a known issue, i'd like the consensus solution

So if the bolt is open it will catch? And thats both a full mag and an empty mag?

So with a 30-06 mag, if the bolt is fully open I can ram it all the way up. Way too far. Bolt closed, it seats as it should.

With the 300 mag I can’t get it up far enough. Bolt back, bolt forward, empty, or full.

Why the hell would you ask ARC before coming here. ARC has nothing to do with the stock. This website has thousand of knowledgeable members. Seems legit he would come here or to Magpul.

What mags are you using? I have a different set up than you, but have noticed mags fit differently from mag to mag. My 7 mag is a Defiance action sitting in a McMillan stock, and the AI, AM, and Magpul mags all act and fit just slightly different than each other. This causes feed issues depending on the mag and ammo combo with my specific set up, from what I've gathered, due to where the latch catches the mag in the bottom metal. Measure where the notch is for the catch to seat from the feed lips or height of the round sitting in the mag.

I can’t remember where I saw the video but a guy had a seekins action in a Magpul hunter stock. The mag release had been very slightly shaved down to accept pmags. When he switched to the Magpul pro he punched out the modded mag release and swapped it to the pro. Maybe this could help you ..? I’ll try and find the video and post it

You could also shave down the catch point on the magazines.

I have found pmags to have many issues working all over the place. My MPA BA65 wouldn’t take them correctly despite being a factory gun.

On my short action nucleus magpul mags are a no bueno.
