I don't own any Magpul BUISes' so I can't advise you about any "walking". Magpul makes great products and their Customer Service is awesome. However, for BUIS I prefer Troys. LWRC and Noveske like them too. While more pricey than Magpul BUISes', the Troys seem more solid. Whether the price differential is worth it is up to you.
However, I've seen brand new Troy BUIS take-off sets here for $200.00 shipped per set - occasionally for less. The front BUIS with "HK style" protective ears is more common than the standard "AR style" ears. I actually bought a an LWRC ARM-R rail, then bought front & rear Troys to mount on my TacSol AR22 M4 build.

Definitely look at the ACOG 3.5Xs' if and when you have the means - the 3.5Xs' have the best eye relief of the ACOGs', which makes head position less critical. This is key, and on collapsable stocks you can extend the stock to stretch-out or shorten it to suit the situation / task. Mounted over the BUISes' you have great primary and secondary sighting systems.
